After a meeting of the cast tonight, we have agreed that in the best interests of our community and our audience we are postponing our production of 1984.
We are very proud of the production we have put together and we wish to reassure everyone that 1984 will proceed at a date to be fixed after the current COVID-19 circumstances are resolved.
We understand the disappointment ticket holders must be feeling; we're feeling it as well. For those loyal patrons who have already paid for tickets, we fully intend to honour tickets already sold at the equivalent performance in the future. However, we also fully understand if people would like a refund and we are more than happy to facilitate that option as well.
We hope that we all get through the current difficulties facing our world and we look forward to seeing you all again on the other side when our production of 1984 can finally see the spotlight!
CADS opens their 2020 season with a production of an adaptation of the George Orwell classic novel, 1984. Focusing on the relationship between Winston, Julia, and O'Brien, this production explores the way in which we understand and control our own reality as our hopes are brought into direct conflict with our fears.
Unlike other adaptations, this production does not portray graphic interrogation or torture scenes but remains more suited for a mature audience due to the adult concepts and themes presented.
Performances will be at the Coonabarabran High School Hall on:
Tickets are available online at Trybooking and are available to purchase at Prezzies, Coonabarabran.
